Happy Birthday Mouse!
What do you do when you've been really busy but your daughter's birthday is coming up quickly...like...tomorrow? You make a quick watercolor background using Distress Inks (Mermaid Lagoon and Picked Raspberry) and emboss it using an embossing folder from We R Memory Keepers. I heat embossed the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment from Clearly Besotted on some vellum.
I knew my daughter would just go 'Aaaahhhwwww that's so cute!' when she would see this mouse stamp from House Mouse, so although it's not a typical birthday image, I know she will love it. I colored it in using Copic markers and used a bit of the Mermaid Lagoon for the floor where the mouse stands.
This card is not my typical card, but in a strange way I like it. Haste can be a good thing to get out of your comfort zone :)

Another Happy Bird-day!
As I might have mentioned, I really like the 'I'm tweet on you' stamps from MFT. I decided to pair it with the cat from the 'I knead you' set, also from MFT, as he just looked perfect to hang from that branch!
I colored in the leaves and animals with my Copic markers, but decided to leave the branch itself white to keep the focus on the cat and the bird. I cut the shapes using a MFT STAX die and glued them on top of some patterned birthday themed paper and will send it off to a good friends of mine.

Hey Chick!
I love farm animals... And I know my friend, who's birthday is coming up shortly, loves chickens! She has three special chickens, called Easter Egg chickens. One lays blue eggs, one green eggs and one lays pink eggs. Isn't that amazing?
There is a lot of masking on this card, to be able to use the distress inks for the background. I mixed 'Shabby Shutters' as well as 'Squeezed Lemonade' to be able to get a mucky looking farm floor. After that I colored everything in with Copic markers, and gave the floor a little bit of 'texture' with a pencil. A bit of white embossing on a black background for the sentiment to finish it all off and the card was done!
I love cows... I might have to make another card using more of them :)

Just Fur you - Monkey
This is my entry to the Gerda Steiner monthly challenge. The monkey is a fantastic digi-stamp, which I colored in using Copic markers. I found a sentiment that would go great with it, in the MFT stamp set 'I knead you'. This looks like a 'Happy' card to me :)
A Free Hello!
I just purchased the Splatters Stencil from Tim Holtz... I'm in love! I made 5 very similar cards to the above, just all in different colors... I used Distress Inks, the Stax die from MFT and a 'Hello' die I received for free with my order from MFT!

Happy Bird-day!
Here's another card made with the MyFavoriteThings I'm Tweet on you set!
I made my own background using the sentiment 'Happy Bird-day' from the stamp set and stamped this on Neenah yardstick in different colors. I colored in the birds using a mixture of Copic markers and Distress inks. I added a little bit of detail around the birds with some small silver sequins to pretend that the birds are playing in the water, but it's hard to see on the photo.

Just a Note - Tweet on You!
I bought the most adorable stamp set from MyFavoriteThings: I'm Tweet on You! I went a little crazy and tried a lot of new methods for me...
I challenged myself to use patterned paper, which I'm not very good at as I like things 'plain'. I also used my Distress inks as water colors for the first time.
The branch I colored using my Copics, but the rest is all Distress Inks.

More Duckling fun!
Here's some more Duckling fun! I really love the Lucky Duck Stamp set from Gerda Steiner. This is my second card using the stamps in the set, and I'm sure some more will follow!

Duck!
I loved the duck images from Gerda Steiner when I saw Maike's cards (Maikreations) when she was a guest designer. So here is the first Duck card I've made with the set. I'm sure you will see some more of these images on my cards soon :)
This was my first try at using Distress Inks as watercolor inks. I'm not very good at watercoloring (just yet :) but at least I've made a start! The duck and fish were colored in using Copic markers.

It's Spring Time!!
I made this card to enter in my very first challenge from Gerda Steiner! I really loved coloring this rabbit, but I had some trouble in deciding what to do with him. In the end I just put him in a 'field' of flowers. Now I can post him just in time, as the challenge finishes tomorrow... Maybe next month I'll try to get my card done sooner!

OK, I have to work on my photography. But I just wanted to post my first card on this blog! It's my 10 year anniversary card which looks like a picture we have from our wedding day...
