Happy Birthday Mouse!

What do you do when you've been really busy but your daughter's birthday is coming up quickly...like...tomorrow? You make a quick watercolor background using Distress Inks (Mermaid Lagoon and Picked Raspberry) and emboss it using an embossing folder from We R Memory Keepers. I heat embossed the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment from Clearly Besotted on some vellum.

I knew my daughter would just go 'Aaaahhhwwww that's so cute!' when she would see this mouse stamp from House Mouse, so although it's not a typical birthday image, I know she will love it. I colored it in using Copic markers and used a bit of the Mermaid Lagoon for the floor where the mouse stands.

This card is not my typical card, but in a strange way I like it. Haste can be a good thing to get out of your comfort zone :)

  1. Such a cute card! I hope your daughter liked it, too and that she had a wonderful birthday ;o) Love how your watercolouring stands out because of the embossing - looks dreamy in a way! Happy crafting and have a great Sunday! ;o) Maike
